Our MIND!

Our mind (whose physiological counterpart is Brain ) is consist of two parts-
left and right mind (brain).

Both these two left and right parts give rise to different creative urges in us.

The left Brain takes care of logic, theology, philosophy, math and science etc. All the thought process happens in this left Brain.

Where as the right mind give rise to music, art, painting, love & other emotions. The right mind immensely facilitates the process of meditation. Right mind do not think. It is deeply related to the source of infinite creativity. Here thoughts does not arise as a thinking process, rather anything happens as an instant flash of creativity. This part does not think. This part feels.

Criticism -- How to give and take!

Here is a nice article on How to Give Kind Criticism, and Avoid Being Critical
Response for the article is great with good visitor suggestions

One technique a visitor mentioned: P-C-P
  • First, “P” - Praise the effort, progress or results, no matter how far from the desired one. Find something that you can be laudatory about. This is critical, because it lowers the receiver’s automatic defenses and conditions them to be more receptive to what you have to say next.
  • Then, “C” - criticize - deliver the criticism with a constructive voice, using Leo’s great techniques above.
  • Then “P” - Praise again and segue into an acknowledgment of the effort put in and express your excitement to share in future growth.

The P-C-P sandwich is an amazingly effective technique and it can really work to turn potentially explosive situations into energized and constructive ones.

Pause... Reflect...

  • We are in such a hurry to grow up, and then we long for our lost childhood.
  • We make ourselves ill earning money, and then spend all our money on getting well again.
  • We think so much about the future that we neglect the present, and thus experience neither the present nor the future.
  • We live as if we were never going to die, and die as if we had never lived.

Getting Serious About Happiness

Drawing on his research on happiness, Csikszentmihalyi has three general pieces of advice:

Be attuned to what gives you genuine satisfaction. Although many people assume that popular activities like watching TV are enjoyable, their own reports generally indicate that they feel more engaged, energetic, satisfied and happy when doing other things.

Study yourself. To better understand their own happiness, Csikszentmihalyi says, people should systematically record their activities and feelings every few hours for a week or two. In recording your observations, try to focus on how you actually feel, rather than what you think you ought to be feeling or what you expect to feel. Afterwards, note the high points, particularly, and the low ones. Then try to adjust how you spend time according to your findings.

Take control. Repairing unhappy conditions requires active effort. People often assume external conditions will change for the better or let chance determine their response. That's a mistake. "Get control," Csikszentmihalyi says. When things aren't right, "you have to put in the same effort you would if your business were in trouble. Just as markets move, life changes too."
